The Georgia Women’s Legislative Caucus, led by Sen. Sally Harrell and Rep. Kimberly Alexander, has recognized 31 outstanding women from across the state with the Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award. The ceremony, known as the Yellow Rose Ceremony, is an annual event that celebrates individuals who have dedicated themselves to community service.

According to Sen. Harrell, the ceremony is a cherished tradition that highlights the remarkable contributions of the honorees to their communities. She stated, “The Yellow Rose Ceremony is a time-honored tradition for the Women’s Legislative Caucus. Being with our honorees and hearing the stories of how they serve their communities is always so inspiring.”

Rep. Alexander expressed pride in the diverse group of women being honored this year, referring to them as "unsung heroes who selflessly serve others while never expecting anything in return." The theme of this year's award ceremony, "Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion," was inspired by International Women’s Day activities.

The 2024 awardees have been recognized for their various contributions, including efforts to feed the hungry, support seniors, shelter the homeless, offer mental health assistance, advocate for working women, and more within their communities. These women exemplify the spirit of service and dedication that the Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award aims to honor.

Sen. Sally Harrell represents the 40th Senate District encompassing portions of DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett Counties, while Representative Kimberly Alexander serves the citizens of District 66, including portions of Douglas County. Both legislators play integral roles in the Georgia Women’s Legislative Caucus and are committed to recognizing the outstanding achievements of women in the state.
