Bay Creek Middle School recorded 169 white students enrolled for the 2024-25 school year, representing a 0.6% decrease from the prior year, reports the Georgia Department of Education.

Total student count at Bay Creek Middle reached 1,542 for 2024-25. White students comprised 11% of enrollment, the school’s third-largest demographic group.

Located within Gwinnett County School District, Bay Creek Middle has its central office in Lawrenceville.

Out of all 140 Gwinnett County schools, North Gwinnett High School posted the highest number of enrolled white students for 2024-25, at 1,113.

The National Center for Education Statistics found that Georgia public schools’ racial and ethnic distribution was about 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander.

Georgia schools face ongoing issues with chronic absenteeism following the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing 10% or more of school days in 2024, as reported by the Georgia Department of Education. The agency launched a new initiative that includes a dashboard for attendance in real time, a public awareness effort, and special support for high-need districts to raise attendance rates.

In 2025, a bill introduced in Georgia updated attendance laws to prohibit expulsion based solely on absenteeism. It also introduced new reporting obligations and supports initiatives helping students pursue diplomas through alternative means.

By 2026, Georgia’s student-to-teacher ratio averaged about 14:1, which was more favorable than the national average of 15:1.
