Benedict Tigers fall 10-1 to Fort Valley State; Hope Gunn pitches 4.1 innings

Former Shiloh High School star Hope Gunn and the Benedict Tigers were defeated 10-1 by the Fort Valley State Wildcats on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 1 p.m. in an NCAA Division II softball game.

Wildcat Stadium served as the venue for the matchup, which marked the third meeting between the Tigers and Wildcats this season. In their prior contest on Saturday, Feb. 21, the Tigers were beaten 17-1.

Gunn pitched 4.1 innings, giving up five earned runs with two walks and four strikeouts.

The Tigers will return to action against the Albany State Golden Rams on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. at Tiger Field.
