Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson will perform the ceremonial First Serve at the Atlanta Vibe’s home volleyball match on Sunday, January 11, at Gas South Arena. The event will also feature the presentation of a proclamation from the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, recognizing the Atlanta Vibe for its contributions to the community and alignment with the County’s One Gwinnett theme during the 2025 season.
“The Atlanta Vibe represents what One Gwinnett looks like in action,” said Hendrickson. “They inspire our community, especially our young people and demonstrate the power of teamwork, leadership and shared purpose both on and off the court.”
The proclamation was presented at a recent Board of Commissioners meeting. It highlighted how the Atlanta Vibe has helped bring residents together, promoted professional women’s sports in Gwinnett County, and reflected values such as unity and collaboration mentioned in Hendrickson’s 2025 State of the County Address.
“We are proud to call Gwinnett home and for our team to be part of ‘One Gwinnett,” said Atlanta Vibe Owner Colleen Craig. “The support for the Atlanta Vibe from this community and Chairwoman Hendrickson gives us an unrivaled home court advantage.”
The Atlanta Vibe is Gwinnett’s professional women’s volleyball team and plays at Gas South Arena. The team has quickly built a strong local following and serves as an example of opportunity in women’s sports.
Chairwoman Hendrickson encouraged residents to attend Thursday’s kick-off game on January 8.
