House Majority Leader Chuck Efstration has criticized Georgia Democrats for their stance on federal spending cuts. In a statement, he expressed concern over the rising U.S. debt, which he said has reached $36.8 trillion.
Efstration stated, “The U.S. debt has reached $36.8 trillion, placing a massive financial burden on the backs of our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It is irresponsible of Georgia Democrats to continue demanding reckless spending, particularly without a plan to pay for it.”
He further commented on the historical context of U.S. debt management: “Since Alexander Hamilton, the United States has never defaulted on its debt.” Efstration accused Democrats of lacking “a coherent plan to balance the federal budget and pay off our nation’s debts without default.”
Efstration also referenced former President Trump’s efforts in managing federal spending, saying it should not be used by Democrats for political gains: “President Trump’s leadership reigning in federal spending should not used by Democrats for cheap political points.”
