Graves Elementary enrolls 10 multiracial students for 2024-25

In the 2024-25 school year, Graves Elementary enrolled 10 multiracial students—the same total as the prior year, the Georgia Department of Education reported.

Total enrollment at Graves Elementary reached 1,050 students in 2024-25. Multiracial students represented 1% of the population, making them the smallest demographic group at the school.

Located in the Gwinnett County School District and centrally administered in Lawrenceville, Graves Elementary serves a diverse student body.

Brookwood High School had the largest enrollment of multiracial students in the district for 2024-25, with 187 multiracial students among its 140 schools.

The National Center for Education Statistics reports that Georgia’s public school population is approximately 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander.

Chronic absenteeism has stayed high across Georgia schools following the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024.
