Gwinnett County is set to begin construction on the Gwinnett Community Resource Center located on Grayson Highway. The facility aims to improve access to services and resources for local residents, spanning 84,232 square feet with three floors. It will provide office space for county partners like View Point Health and will act as a community center offering various support programs. These programs will focus on mental health and behavioral health, services for veterans and families, and childhood development.

The resource center will also include a 30-bed inpatient crisis stabilization unit and a 23-hour temporary observation day center, which can accommodate up to 15 individuals. This project is financed by the American Rescue Plan Act.

Gwinnett County officials will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, March 11, at 2 p.m. The event will be emceed by Lindsey Jorstad, Director of the Department of Community Services. Scheduled speakers are Nicole Love Hendrickson, Chairwoman of the Gwinnett Board of Commissioners; Jasper Watkins III, District 3 Commissioner; and Jennifer Hibbard, CEO of View Point Health.

The event will take place at the future site of the Gwinnett Community Resource Center, located at 1040 Grayson Highway, Lawrenceville.
