Shiloh Middle School reported an enrollment of 442 Hispanic students for the 2024-25 school year, reflecting a 1.8% increase over the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.
Total enrollment at Shiloh Middle School reached 1,581 students during 2024-25. Hispanic students represented 28% of the student population, making them the school’s second-largest demographic group.
The school is part of the Gwinnett County School District, which is headquartered in Lawrenceville.
Within the district’s 140 schools, Berkmar High School had the largest number of Hispanic students for the 2024-25 school year, totaling 2,072.
Georgia public schools enrolled more than 1.7 million students, the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report showed. Elementary grades enrolled 787,206 students (45.9%), middle school grades had 388,733 (22.7%), and high schools recorded 539,092 (31.4%).
Chronic absenteeism has continued to challenge Georgia schools since the pandemic, with 20.7% of students absent at least 10% of school days in 2024, according to the Georgia Department of Education. To address this, the GaDOE introduced a range of measures such as a real-time attendance dashboard, a statewide public awareness campaign, and focused support for districts with higher need to improve daily attendance.
In 2025, legislation was approved in Georgia to revise school attendance laws, prohibiting expulsions that are solely for absenteeism. Under the new law, additional reporting requirements were established, and the statute was updated to support alternative diploma pathways for students.
By 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio stood at approximately 14:1, which was lower than the national average of 15:1.
