In the 2024-25 school year, Lilburn Elementary School had 937 Hispanic students enrolled, a decrease of 1.6% compared to the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Total enrollment at Lilburn Elementary School reached 1,267 for 2024-25. Hispanic students accounted for 74% of the population, making them the largest demographic group at the school.

The school operates under the Gwinnett County School District, which is based in Lawrenceville.

Berkmar High School, out of the 140 schools in Gwinnett County School District, reported the highest number of Hispanic students for 2024-25, enrolling 2,072 students.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, public schools in Georgia were composed of approximately 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander students.

Chronic absenteeism continues to pose significant challenges in Georgia schools after the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, data from the Georgia Department of Education show. The department launched a statewide campaign with real-time attendance tracking, a new public awareness push, and assistance for districts with the highest needs to improve student attendance levels.

In 2025, Georgia legislators approved new attendance laws prohibiting expelling students solely for missing school, adding additional reporting measures and supporting alternative diploma programs.

As of 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio stood at about 14:1, outpacing the national average of 15:1.
