For 2024-25, Lilburn Middle School reported an enrollment of 15 multiracial students, a decline of 6.3% from the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Total enrollment at Lilburn Middle School reached 1,572 for the 2024-25 academic year, with multiracial students accounting for 1%—the school’s smallest demographic group.

The campus is part of Gwinnett County School District, headquartered in Lawrenceville.

Out of 140 Gwinnett County School District schools, Brookwood High School had the largest multiracial student enrollment during 2024-25, counting 187 students.

The National Center for Education Statistics reports Georgia public schools have a student population that is about 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander.

Chronic absenteeism continues to be a significant challenge post-pandemic in Georgia, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, according to the Georgia Department of Education. GaDOE responded with a new statewide effort that includes a real-time attendance dashboard, awareness initiatives, and additional support for high-need districts.

In 2025, state lawmakers revised attendance laws to prohibit expulsion solely for absenteeism. The update also introduced new reporting standards and support for alternative diploma pathways.

By 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio stood at around 14:1, an improvement over the national figure of 15:1.
