U.S. Representative Lucy McBath, who serves Georgia’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of tweets on October 15, 2025, focusing on health care access and the potential impact of stalled legislative negotiations on insurance premiums.

In her first tweet, McBath wrote, “House Democrats are united behind saving health care and hearing the stories of the American people. Everyone should be able to see a doctor when they need one—and not have to skip rent payments to keep their insurance. Republican leadership is still nowhere to be seen.” (October 15, 2025).

Later that day, McBath referenced a federal resource for health insurance shoppers: “The window shopping tool on https://t.co/qq6jBedxZw shows what 2026 premiums might be if Republicans refuse to come to the table.” (October 15, 2025).

In a subsequent tweet, she highlighted potential financial consequences for Americans relying on the Affordable Care Act: “Can you afford a massive premium spike? Let’s look at the numbers for a minute. If Republicans don’t work with us to fund the government with a bill that protects health care, Americans relying on the Affordable Care Act will see their costs for next year go through the roof.” (October 15, 2025).

Lucy McBath has represented Georgia’s 7th district since replacing Karen Handel in 2019. In the most recent general election in 2024, she defeated Jeff Criswell by a significant margin, receiving nearly 75% of the vote. The tweets come amid ongoing discussions in Congress about government funding and the future of health care policy.
