Pharr Elementary School recorded an enrollment of 115 white students for the 2024-25 school year, reflecting a 5.5% increase compared with the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.
Overall, the total student body at Pharr Elementary reached 769 students for 2024-25. White students represented 15% of total enrollment, making them the school’s third-largest demographic group.
The school is part of the Gwinnett County School District, whose central office is located in Lawrenceville.
Within the district’s 140 schools, North Gwinnett High School reported the most white students, enrolling 1,113 in 2024-25.
According to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report, more than 1.7 million students attended Georgia public schools. Enrollment was highest in elementary grades with 787,206 students (45.9%), followed by middle school at 388,733 (22.7%), and high school at 539,092 (31.4%).
Post-pandemic, chronic absenteeism has continued to impact Georgia’s schools, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, the Georgia Department of Education reported. In response, GaDOE introduced a statewide effort that features a real-time attendance dashboard, an awareness campaign, and focused assistance for districts needing additional support to raise daily attendance.
In 2025, Georgia legislators approved updates to school attendance policies that prohibit expelling students solely due to absenteeism. The law introduced additional reporting requirements and works in conjunction with alternative diploma programs.
As of 2026, Georgia reported an average student-to-teacher ratio of about 14:1, which remains better than the national average of 15:1.
