State Representative Segun Adeyina of Grayson has expressed his support for the 2025 Haitian Flag Day Celebration. The event is organized by the Georgia Haitian-American Chamber of Commerce (GAHCCI) in collaboration with the City of Forest Park and the Consulate General of Haiti in Atlanta. It is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 18, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Starr Park Amphitheater in Forest Park, Georgia.
The celebration marks the anniversary of the creation of the Haitian flag on May 18, 1803, a symbol representing Haiti’s struggle for freedom and independence. This year’s theme, “Nou Se Wozo,” which translates to “We Are Resilient” in Haitian Creole, pays tribute to the resilience, adaptability, and unity of the Haitian people.
The event is free and open to everyone. Attendees can expect a ceremony featuring cultural performances and acknowledgments of Haitian-American entrepreneurs, students, and leaders. Additionally, there will be live music, food vendors, cultural displays, family-friendly activities, and keynote speeches from community leaders and partners.
