State Representative Segun Adeyina has expressed his concerns following incidents at T.W. Briscoe Park in Snellville, Georgia. The events, which took place over the past weekend, have prompted a response from local authorities and community leaders.

In a statement, Rep. Adeyina emphasized the importance of safety in public spaces: “I am deeply concerned about the recent incidents that occurred at T.W. Briscoe Park in Snellville over the past weekend. Our parks should be safe havens for families, children and all members of our community to gather, play and enjoy the outdoors without fear.”

Rep. Adeyina acknowledged the efforts of local law enforcement: “I commend the swift response of the Snellville Police Department and other first responders who acted promptly to ensure the safety of our residents.” He also supported measures taken by city officials: “I also support the city’s decision to temporarily close the pool and review safety protocols to prevent such incidents in the future.”

Highlighting his commitment to addressing violence, Rep. Adeyina stated: “As your state representative, I am committed to working with local officials, law enforcement and community leaders to address the underlying issues that contribute to such violence.” He suggested solutions including investment in youth programs and enhancing community policing efforts.

Rep. Adeyina called on individuals with information about these incidents to assist law enforcement: “I urge anyone with information about these incidents to come forward and assist law enforcement in their investigations.” Concluding his statement, he extended his thoughts to those affected: “Together, we can foster a community where everyone feels safe and valued… My thoughts are with all those affected by these events.”
