Rosebud Elementary reported enrolling 186 Hispanic students for the 2024-25 school year, a 5.7% increase over the prior year, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

Data indicates total enrollment at Rosebud Elementary stood at 982 students for 2024-25. Hispanic students accounted for 19% of the overall student population, ranking as the second-largest demographic group at the school.

The campus is part of Gwinnett County School District, which has its central office in Lawrenceville.

Out of the 140 schools in the Gwinnett County School District, Berkmar High School posted the highest number of Hispanic students for the 2024-25 school year, enrolling 2,072 students.

Georgia public schools served more than 1.7 million students, according to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report. The majority attended elementary grades, with 787,206 students (45.9%), followed by 388,733 in middle school (22.7%), and 539,092 in high school (31.4%).

The issue of chronic absenteeism persists in Georgia schools after the pandemic, with 20.7% of students absent for 10% or more of school days during 2024, the Georgia Department of Education reports. To address this, GaDOE initiated measures statewide, including a real-time attendance dashboard, a public awareness campaign, and tailored assistance for the districts with the greatest need to help improve daily attendance rates.

In 2025, state legislators updated attendance laws to prohibit expulsion based solely on absenteeism. The updates also introduce new reporting rules and support programs assisting students in completing diploma requirements through alternative methods.

By 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio was about 14:1, ahead of the national average of 15:1.
