Gwinnett and Eastside Medical Center's vaccine clinic expands hours

Vaccine

County of Gwinnett issued the following announcement on Jul. 12.

If you haven’t received your COVID-19 vaccination yet, Gwinnett County and Eastside Medical Center are making it easier for you with a vaccination clinic in southern Gwinnett. The clinic will offer first and second doses of the Moderna vaccine for adults ages 18 and over in a building located on the hospital campus.

The clinic's new expanded hours are:

Tuesdays: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Thursdays: noon to 8:00pm

Fridays: 8:00am to 8:00pm (drive-thru from 5:00pm to 8:00pm)

Saturday, August 14 and Saturday, September 11: 8:00am to 1:00pm (drive-thru vaccinations)

The clinic is located at 1800 Tree Lane, Suite 250, in Snellville.

I thank Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson for her leadership and the Eastside Medical Center for stepping up to make it easier for Gwinnett residents to get the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Congresswoman Carolyn Bourdeaux. “We know some of our diverse communities are lagging in vaccination rates. This critical initiative, funded by the American Rescue Plan, addresses zones in Gwinnett where there are fewer health providers and pharmacies and therefore, less access to the vaccine. This is not just about the health of an individual but the health of our community.”

Gwinnett County is applying for an American Rescue Plan funded FEMA grant to support the vaccine clinic and reach underserved populations and areas that have been lagging in vaccine access in the southern part of Gwinnett County. By July 4, the White House wants 70 percent of all eligible adults to get their first vaccination dose.

“As COVID-19 cases in Gwinnett County, the state of Georgia and the country continue to decline, we want to make sure the trend stays positive,” said Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson. “I am thrilled to team up with Eastside Medical Center to continue making vaccines more accessible and help us expand our reach to an even greater audience.”

“Ease of access is one of the keys to vaccinating more people in our community.” said District 3 Commissioner Jasper Watkins III. “This partnership is an excellent way to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus not just in my district but in other communities as well.”

“Eastside is proud to partner with Gwinnett County to expand vaccination availability to the communities we serve, to include the underserved southern portion of Gwinnett County,” said Eastside Medical Center CEO Trent Lind. “As more employers establish requirements for vaccinations, as well as the need for back-to-school vaccinations increases, Eastside and Gwinnett County will be here to support the needs of our residents.”

Vaccination appointments can be scheduled using TriStar Health: Eastside Medical Center COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic (signupgenius.com) or VaccineFinder.org. Walk-ins are also welcomed.
