The Atlanta Falcons will add former Chicago Bears General Manager Ryan Pace to the team's scouting team, bringing more than 20 years of experience to the role.

Pace had success with the Bears early on, as the team made the postseason for the first time since 2010 in 2018, but struggled later, according to a report on the Falcons website.

Pace will be a senior personnel executive on Terry Fontenot's staff, in addition to Ruston Webster and Phil Emery, according to the report.

"Former Bears GM Ryan Pace joins Falcons scouting staff," the team posted to its Twitter account.

Pace and Fontenot are connected from their years as members of the New Orleans Saints, where they spent 13 seasons together, the report stated. Pace was named executive of the year by Sporting News in 2018. He was also a scout and director of player personnel for the Bears.

He became the Bears general manager in 2015 but was recently fired as the team is implementing numerous changes, according to the report.
