Atlanta Falcons star wideout Calvin Ridley may have bet more than the $1,500 that was originally reported.

Ridley tweeted March 7 as news of his gambling arose stating he was wrong but called the one-year suspension he received from the NFL harsh, according to Sportshandle.com.

"I bet $1,500 total. I don't have a gambling problem," Ridley wrote in his tweet.

As news of the allegations broke, a March 11 report by Sports Handle highlighted documents obtained by the organization that show Ridley wagered more than he initially claimed.

According to the report, the wide receiver wagered $3,900 across six separate bets on or including Falcons games. Of these, five were parlays in which the Falcons’ money line was included and one was a $1,300 in-game wager on the Falcons team total in its victory against the Jaguars Nov. 28.

All bets involving the Falcons were recorded as losses, Sports Handle reported.

Two additional $100 wagers are reported to have been placed by Ridley on NFL games not involving the Falcons, Sports Handle reported. Those bets resulted in wins totaling a profit of $654, while Ridley also placed an additional 33 wagers on other sports and leagues for a total of $32,733 and a profit of $2,744.

Ridley placed the bets during a period when he was on leave from the team to deal with a non-football-related condition, stating he was prioritizing his mental health, according to the report. The NFL has since suspended Ridley for the entire 2022 season.
