The Atlanta Braves have re-signed 2020-21 NLCS MVP Eddie Rosario to a two-year, $18 million deal. In a March 16 report by MLB.com, President of Baseball Operations Alex Anthopoulos said signing a left-handed bat was important after having such a balanced line up last year. Rosario, a left-fielder, fills the need for a middle-of-the-line-up, left-handed hitting outfielder.
"He’s baaaaaaack," the team posted on Twitter.
According to MLB, Rosario's two-year deal also includes a club option for 2024.
This comes as the left fielder hit .383 against the Dodgers in the NCLS, going 14-for-25 with three homers in six games, the report states.
With an additional 13 homers hit during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, MLB reports Rosario was set on a 35-homer pace. Boasting a $9 million salary for the next two seasons, the future for the Braves’ fan-favorite may be full of opportunity and bargaining to come.
