Sasquatch, the parent company of Wisconsin-based meat snacks provider Jack Link's, is set to open for business in Georgia by building a $450 million factory in the town of Perry that will house at least 800 employees by 2023.

In a recent report by FOX 5 Atlanta, Troy Link, CEO of Jack Link and the son of the company’s founder, told the news organization the Georgia plant is set to be the largest ever built by the company.

"The Georgia facility is going to ensure that we continue to lead the protein snacking category with great innovation, and continue to grow with our customers, consumers and team members," Link told FOX 5 Atlanta.

Link Snacks touts itself as the largest maker of protein snacks across the globe, boasting a list of products that include beef jerky and other meat snacks sold under its name, as well as other brands, according to the report.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp was on hand with top Link Snack's senior executives for the announcement that the company will be opening operations in Georgia. The governor celebrated the proposal as the state's largest economic development project outside metro Atlanta this year, the report stated. At that time, he said the announcement is just the latest effort to create more jobs and opportunities for hard-working residents.

The state will pay to train the company’s workers, according to Fox 5. Operating in Georgia will enable Jack Links to claim various tax breaks, including an income tax credit that would allow the company to annually deduct $3,500 per job from state taxes as long as workers make at least $28,000 per year.
