As the Atlanta Falcons snare top draft-pick Drake London, the wide receiver is already counting down the days until he can line up on the team's offense across from star tight end Kyle Pitts.
In a recent report by AtlantaFalcons.com, coaches Terry Fontenot and Art Smith said London’s draft is set to continue their two-year streak of snagging a “big-bodied receiving weapon” for the team.
Pitts joined the team last year with the No. 4 overall pick.
"Me and Kyle (Pitts) could be something special," London told the AtlantaFalcons.com on draft night.
London is expected to fill the large hole left by the full-season suspension of Calvin Ridley and the departure of Russell Gage, now in Tampa Bay with quarterback Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
The wide receiver fits the mold of a big receiver that can run after the catch that Coach Smith has often talked about being in the market for over the entire off-season.
London joins a group of receivers that includes Olamide Zaccheaus, Frank Darby and Auden Tate in an offense that also boasts such weapons as tight end Kyle Pitts and all-purpose running back Cordarrelle Patterson.
