Last week a group of GAC High School students traveled to Talkeetna, Alaska, to serve at a local kids' day camp and the senior community center.
From staining cabins and cutting and organizing firewood to working in the garden, our students worked diligently throughout the week.
Afterwards, they also had the opportunity to explore the gorgeous wilderness. They visited the Matanuska Glacier, where they learned how glaciers form and their environmental impact. They hiked to one of the glacier peaks, stunned by incredible views of the mountain ranges surrounding the area. And went on a river adventure!
What a special week! Not only did the students serve, but they also had time to grow spiritually through devotionals and morning walks with one another. We are so thankful our students could encourage and support one another. Go Spartans!
