Trip Elementary reported enrolling 160 white students for the 2024-25 school year, which was an 8.8% increase compared to the previous year, based on Georgia Department of Education records.
According to data, Trip Elementary School’s total enrollment stood at 1,601 for the 2024-25 school year. White students accounted for 10% of the student population, ranking as the third-largest group at the school.
The school, part of Gwinnett County School District, has its central administrative office in Lawrenceville.
Among the 140 schools in the district, North Gwinnett High School had the largest number of white students enrolled for 2024-25, with 1,113 reported.
Georgia’s public school enrollment surpassed 1.7 million, according to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report. Elementary grades led with 787,206 enrolled (45.9%), followed by middle school at 388,733 (22.7%), and high school at 539,092 (31.4%).
Chronic absenteeism continues to challenge Georgia schools after the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024. To address attendance, GaDOE has initiated a statewide effort that includes a real-time attendance dashboard, a public campaign, and focused support for high-need districts.
Georgia lawmakers approved a bill in 2025 to revise attendance laws, preventing expulsion solely because of absenteeism. The measure also introduces additional reporting rules and supports alternative diploma programs. More details can be found here.
As of 2026, the student-to-teacher ratio for Georgia schools averaged about 14:1, which is lower than the national average of 15:1.
