Ferguson Elementary School is part of Gwinnett County School District, headquartered in Lawrenceville.
Of the 140 schools in the district, North Gwinnett High School had the largest number of white students in 2024-25, enrolling 1,113.
According to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report, Georgia public schools served more than 1.7 million students. Elementary schools had the largest share, enrolling 787,206 students (45.9%), followed by 388,733 (22.7%) in middle schools and 539,092 (31.4%) in high schools.
The Georgia Department of Education reports that chronic absenteeism has continued to be an issue since the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024.
