The police are searching for two drivers after one struck and killed a pedestrian in a hit-and-run on Dec. 3.

Julio Sandoval, 55, was walking across the Singleton Road north of Thompson Parkway when he was struck by the first vehicle, then a second vehicle hit him, accessWDUN reported earlier in December.

‘’The Gwinnett Police Accident Investigation Unit is working to identify the drivers of 2 vehicles who fatally injured a pedestrian and then left the scene on Dec 3, on Singleton Rd and Thompson Pkwy,’’ the Gwinnett County Police said in a Tweet.

Sandoval died as a result of the injuries he sustained, accessWDUN reported.

Witnesses stated the driver of a red Toyota passenger car stopped, allegedly saw the pedestrian lying in the roadway after striking him, and fled the scene, Gwinnett County Police said in a release.

The Gwinnett Daily Post reported that police were called to a house after reports of Sandoval's body lying in the driveway north of Paden Drive at 2452 Cruse Road.

“The victim had sustained life-threatening injuries consistent with those of being hit by a vehicle which resulted in his death,” Police Officer Senior Hideshi Valle said, the Gwinnett Daily Post reported. “The investigation is ongoing."

The press release states that anyone who has information on the drivers of the vehicles should report to GCPD Investigators by calling GCPD detectives at (678) 442-5653 or to remain anonymous, call the Atlanta Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Additionally, those with tips can visit www.stopcrimeATL.com.

Crime Stoppers will offer a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
