The latest movie from filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, “Police State,” will be shown at a Lawrenceville movie theater on Oct. 23 and Oct. 25.
D’Souza said, "I honestly wouldn't have believed, prior to the 2020 election and prior to Biden coming to office, that I’d be making this movie. Which really shows that we have seen a speedy introduction of the police state on many different levels."
The film explores the roots of what D’Souza calls “police state” activity by the government, from the "Patriot Act" following 9/11 to the more recent instances of COVID lockdowns, social media censorship, prosecution of concerned parents at school board meetings, and the surveillance and detention of Americans who were in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021.
The movie features D’Souza, actor Nick Searcy, and interviews with U.S. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R), radio host Dan Bongino, and government whistleblowers.
The film's trailer has already garnered 74 million views on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
The movie will be shown at AMC Colonial 18 on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd. at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on both Oct. 23 and Oct. 25.
In addition to Lawrenceville, the movie will also be shown in Atlanta, Brunswick, Columbus, Savannah, and other communities.
