The Gwinnett County Solicitor's Office is set to present a check for funds raised during the Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5K. The presentation will occur on December 12 at 2 p.m. at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center Auditorium Breezeway.

The recent event managed to raise over $10,350. These funds are designated for three organizations: Mosaic Georgia, Ahimsa House, and Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV). Mosaic Georgia provides free services to survivors of sexual abuse, while Ahimsa House offers a safe haven for pets belonging to domestic violence survivors as they work towards stabilizing their lives. PADV focuses on providing temporary housing and resources for those affected by domestic violence.

"It takes a community to stand against domestic violence," stated Gwinnett Solicitor-General Lisamarie Bristol. "The annual 5K event is our way of saying to survivors, 'You are not alone, and there is a support system willing and ready to help.'"

Beyond supporting these primary organizations, the event also aimed to raise awareness within the community about nonprofits that address behavioral health issues, substance use disorders, and promote healthy lifestyle behaviors. These organizations play an essential role in fostering mental and physical well-being by offering education and support to individuals impacted by crime.

The location for this event is the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center situated at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.
