Meadowcreek High School has taken steps to maintain safety and order after an incident involving a student bringing an ammunition clip to the school. In a letter addressed to families, Dr. Kevin Wood stressed the institution's commitment to a safe campus and emphasized the importance of adhering to the student conduct code.

Dr. Wood clarified that "no gun was involved, and no threats were made," but the school has strict policies against bringing inappropriate items to campus. The student involved will face "appropriate school discipline consequences."

The statement acknowledged the timely intervention by students who reported the incident, demonstrating the effectiveness of the school's "See Something, Say Something" culture. This approach encourages vigilance among the school community.

Dr. Wood urged families to participate in this safety initiative by reminding their children of the conduct code and to use the "GCPS Tips" app for anonymously reporting concerns. The app is accessible via both iOS and Android platforms, and reports can also be submitted on P3Campus.com/5105 or via text by messaging "GCPS" to 738477.

Dr. Wood concluded by thanking the families for their continued support in fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment.
