Representative Lucy McBath, serving Georgia's 7th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, shared her thoughts on Women's History Month and legislative efforts related to gun safety through a series of tweets. McBath, who has been an advocate for gun control following the tragic loss of her son Jordan, reflects on these themes in her social media communications.

On March 4, 2025, Rep. McBath highlighted the significance of Women's History Month, stating: "During Women's History Month, we celebrate those who have led the way for women and girls to achieve their dreams. In these uncertain times, it is our mandate to share our stories and stand up against those who seek to bring us down."

Later that day, she reflected on her motivations for entering politics after personal tragedy struck her family: "I came to Congress to make a better world after my son, Jordan, was murdered. We have seen historic change in our gun laws in the time I've been here. The work we do is for all those we have lost and for their families."

In another tweet posted shortly thereafter, McBath addressed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and its importance: "The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act made Americans more safe. Our communities can't afford to see any of it stripped away. @HouseJudiciary"
