Rep. Lucy McBath shares reflections on HBCUs and Passover celebrations

On April 11 and 12, 2025, Representative Lucy McBath, who serves in the U.S. Congress representing Georgia's 7th district, shared several tweets. Through these messages, McBath touched upon diverse themes, from educational institutions to religious celebrations, reflecting her broad spectrum of interests and commitments as a public servant.

On April 11, McBath directed her audience to "Learn more about the project", providing additional insights and inviting public engagement through an embedded link.

Later that day, she expressed pride as an alumna of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). She tweeted, "As a proud HBCU graduate, I am honored to recognize the continuing legacy of these institutions." McBath highlighted Spelman College's founding anniversary and commended the young women visiting Washington, DC, for their determination and leadership potential.

On April 12, McBath extended her greetings for Passover. She remarked "Happy Passover to all who celebrate! The Passover story teaches timeless values of liberation and faith we carry through to today." Her words underscored the enduring lessons of this religious observance.

Additionally, Lucy McBath has served in the U.S. Congress, representing Georgia’s 7th District since 2019. She was born in Joliet, Illinois, in 1960, and currently resides in Marietta. McBath graduated from Virginia State University in 1982 with a BA.
