The Gwinnett Stripers will have access to the Atlanta Braves World Series trophy at Coolray Field on their Opening Night on Tuesday, April 12. This is a special moment due to the deep ties between the Stripers and Braves. There are a variety of different ways to attain tickets and attend the game.
A grand sum of 23 former Stripers players were on the Braves' World Series-winning championship squad, with Braves manager Brian Snitker also being the manager for the Stripers from the 2014 to 2016 seasons. Braves assistant hitting coach Bobby Magallanes and bullpen catcher Jose Yepez were also pupils of Snitker while he was with the Stripers.
“We are proud to welcome the Braves World Champions Trophy Tour to Coolray Field for our Opening Night,” Stripers Vice President and General Manager Erin McCormick told the team website. “The road to this Championship came through Gwinnett and we’re so excited to share this historic celebration with our fans and Braves family.”
The game against Nashville starts at 7:05 p.m. and is an official part of the Braves' 151-stop World Champions Trophy Tour which is being sponsored by Truist. A limited number of single-game tickets for the game will be available to the public, with group rates available as well as luxury boxes. In addition to celebrating the World Series championship of the Braves, the event is also intended to celebrate the Stripers and their long-term connection and contributions to the organization of the Braves.
In addition to April 12, the World Champions Trophy Tour will also return to Coolray Field for the Atlanta Braves Ralph Garr-Bill Lucas HBCU Baseball Classic which will occur on Saturday, February 26. When the Commissioner's Trophy is in the area Stripers fans will have chances to have their pictures taken with it individually.
