The CEO of Helping Mamas diaper supply bank recently said that approximately a third of Georgia parents are having trouble affording basic goods.

According to Fox 5 News, Helping Mamas CEO Jamie Lackey argues that one in three Georgia families face the wrenching decision of choosing between diapers or food in their struggle to care for their infant children and feed their families, forcing the baby supply bank to now have to deal with the added burden of serving triple the number of families they have in years past.

"Families are hurting. We've serving double-triple families than we have in years past," Lackey told Fox 5.

With the price of diapers having recently spiked in a major way due to supply chain issues and inflation, Lackey points out that such items are not covered for purchase by any federal support programs like WIC and SNAP.

Volunteer teams have now been formed in hopes of aiding the Helping Mama’s organization’s Norcross warehouse in stocking the facility with at least 300,000 disposable diapers in recognition of National Diaper Awareness Week, which is fast approaching and runs from Sept. 24 through Oct. 2.
